There too was Love

She stood at mountain peak
Wrapped head to toe against
Prevailing winds.

Ankle deep in azure water
He waded the river
Soaking sun's ray.

Hiking through the world
Unknown to one another
The winds whispered.

It wasn't in the wild
That they would meet;
But where they would learn.

The secrets of true love,
Exposing themselves in
River, tree, and rock.

Wanderlust calling them out
Of the mind's wanderings
And into the heart's reality.

Through the meadows
Hiking side by side
They heard the eagle call.

At every turn - nature,
whispering her secrets
Bade them come near.

The deeper they listened
the more they understood.
Love was the call.

And everywhere they paused
to remember her words
There too was love.
