Remembering Tomorrow

Half way through Lent I begin to remember.
In these days when the sky cannot decide
Whether to stay in the midst of winter
Or lean into the light of spring.

In these days just beyond the equinox,
When through clouds heavy with unshed tears,
Sunbeams makes themselves known,
It is here, half way through Lent,
That I begin to remember.

It is here where the meditation and prayer,
Meet the introspection and reflection
Of this season of desert walking.
Here, where the veil slips, that I begin to remember.

To remember the tears and the laughter.
To remember the grief and the love.
And here, in the middle of Lent,
To remember the unending grace,
That every tomorrow has held.
